How to care for your newly fixed Dental Implants?

Dental Implants are the best solution to restore your smile after an episode of one or more tooth loss. An important factor that determines the success of your implant is its osseointegration. Osseointegration is the process of the implant fusing with the jaw bone. Osseointegration is dependent on the post-op care given by the patient.

10 Post-op care tips for a newly fixed implant:
1. Bleeding usually occurs after a Dental Implant. To control the bleeding, take a few damp pieces of gauze and bite it down for 3-5 minutes. Repeat if necessary.
2. Use cold packs to manage the swelling.
3. Avoid hard nutty foods and switch over to soft foods for the first few days.
4. Avoid chewing over the surgical site. Always chew food in the non-surgical site of your mouth.
5. Quit smoking.
6. Take Antibiotics and Painkillers as advised by your dentist.
7. Brush gently for 2-4 weeks with a soft bristled toothbrush.
8. Maintain optimal Oral hygiene by brushing, flossing and using anti-bacterial mouthwashes twice a day.
9. Diabetic patients should strictly follow a diet to control their blood sugar levels.
10. Alcohol consumption should be stopped for atleast 9-12 months after surgery.

What is a physio dispenser?

A physio dispenser is an advanced dental device that is used for surgical implant operations. Although it is used primarily for dental implant placement, it is used for other oral surgical interventions too. A physio dispenser is otherwise known as an implant motor. This device contains rotary drills that enable dentists to save time and perform effortless surgical procedures while placing dental implants. The intuitive controls and ease of handling help in greatly minimizing operating errors and make implant procedures safer. The physio dispenser enables dentists to safely embed the implant into place. Another advantage of this device is that each component of this device can be sterilized which eliminates the risk of infection.
